Excess weight has become a major problem amongst many people these days and is mostly caused by a change of lifestyle. With the development of medical technology there are several methods that have come up to help reduce excess weight. One of the methods that have gained popularity among many people is liposuction. This is a cosmetic surgery process in which the excess fat in the body is removed using special surgical equipment. However, just like any other cosmetic surgery methods there are pros and cons of liposuction.

Pros

Boost self esteem

Many people lose their self-esteem when being overweight. They lack self-confidence and develop an inferiority complex because they do not like their bodies. However, through liposuction the excess fat in the body is removed leading to weight lose which makes people attain their desired body size and be able to wear all the clothes they desire. This helps boost self-esteem which will be beneficial even in other areas of life leading to enhanced growth and development through different phases of human growth and development.

Reduce risk of other diseases

Studies have shown that excess weight is one of the major causes of health problems such as obesity, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure or joint pain. By going through the liposuction process, the excess fats are removed from the body leading to healthy weight. This reduces the risks of developing those diseases which are related to excess weight. Chances of getting a heart attack as a result of heart problems get reduced to a great extent.

Easy, fast and efficient process

Unlike many other cosmetic surgery processes, liposuction produces instantaneous and dramatic results. Most people who undergo this process have the ability to do their normal work within a time of one to two weeks after the surgery. In addition, the method used to remove the fat cells allows the physician undertaking the procedure to contour the different curves of the body. By following the prescribed diet and exercise the fat cells removed from the body do return again making this process very effective.

Cons

According to research carried on liposuction, it has been revealed that the procedure makes use of drug mixtures and chemicals which are not approved by FDA. Several warnings have also been given against the use of lipolysis injection which is used during the procedure.

Leads to other health complications

There are reports that liposuction leads to other body complications such as skin irregularities and scarring. There are visible scars and bruises left on the skin after the operation. Some of the scars may be permanent thus changing your skin appearance for life. The process also leads to side effects such as nausea, vomiting and other reactions of the immune system. There is also a high risk of formation of blood clot as a result of liposuction.

High cost

The process is quite expensive compared to other health procedures recommended for weight loss. The cost is high because insurance companies also do not cater for the cost because it is termed as a cosmetic procedure which insurance companies do not pay for. It can also lead to the damage of other body organs which might be expensive to treat.

As can be seen, liposuction from Elanic has cons which cannot be ignored because they can have severe effects to one’s life. It is therefore important to ensure that it is carried out as the last option and by a highly qualified surgeon.
